We have worked a didactic unit about incredible
inventions. First of all, we have to say that we have created activities in
which the students developed the four skills (listening, reading, writing and
speaking). The first activities are about listening and reading and the last
ones are focused on writing and speaking. We didn’t use the book, we have
learned through videos, games, songs and so on. Then, we have created a list of
inventions about things the students use in their daily life and in groups they
chose one of them.
First of all, the students completed a grid with this
information:
-Who created the invention?
-When is it created?
-Personal information about the person who created the
invention
-Transformation of the invention. How is it nowadays?
Secondly, they created a text with the information
they have found. Then, we posted each text in a blog we have created “weebly” and finally they created a mind
map. Finally, they did an oral presentation in groups.
As you can see, they wrote the text, they did the mind
map and the oral presentation as well as they can, so they have learned some
things such as dates in English, write a text in the past, create a mind map,
work as a team and so on having fun.
